Introduction

Hi All, Sorry I missed the all-important first class, but could not miss my son Jeff's high school graduation at Providence Performing Arts Center.

I am a second career nurse (changed careers from Administration of Justice to Nursing) following my own diagnosis and journey as a cancer patient.  This experience inspired me to use my gift of good health to "pay it forward," so to speak. I began taking classes toward my nursing degree in 2012 and graduated in 2016.  I currently work as a lung cancer screening nurse navigator for Care New England, a role I truly love.

While in nursing school, I had two clinical rotations in school nurse settings which I really enjoyed and my step mother is a school nurse.   I am considering school nursing as a future career option, therefore I am taking courses toward my Masters in Education.  I am not a teacher and have no experience teaching so please forgive me if my perspective seems naive .

I look forward to meeting you all tomorrow.

  1. Congrats on your son's graduation, and on being a cancer survivor. We welcome your perspective and question as a non-classroom teacher. i am sure we will learn a lot from each other!
